Work Engagement and Teaching Performance of Public-school Physics Teachers in the New Normal

Abstract

Aims: This study correlated the extent of work engagement and level of teaching performance in the new normal of public school Physics and determined the challenges encountered in teaching Physics.

Study Design: This quantitative study utilized a descriptive and correlational research design.

Place and Duration of Study: This study was conducted among Physics teachers in the large division in Central Philippines during the school year 2021-2022.

Methodology: Standardized questionnaire, validated and reliability-tested researcher-made checklist, and RPMS results were used to collect data needed for the study.  Descriptive analysis using mean and standard deviation were used for the extent of work engagement and level of teacher performance while frequency count and percentage distribution were used for the challenges in teaching Physics. Spearman rank correlation determined the significant relationship between work engagement and teaching performance. 

Results: Overall, the extent of the work engagement of the Physics teachers is very often (M=4.88; SD=0.99).  Meanwhile, the overall level of teaching performance is very satisfactory (M=4.46; SD=0.26). 

Moreover, there is a significant relationship between work engagement and teaching performance [ρ(62)=0.331, p=0.008].  Topping the challenges in teaching Physics are the voluminous paperwork and extended working hours (64 or 75%), diversity of learners (45.3%), and adaptability to educational trends (39.1%).

Conclusion: This study discovered a significant relationship between work engagement and teaching performance.  Hence, when the work engagement of teachers is greater, their teaching performance level also escalates.  Vigor, dedication, and absorption are all contributory to work engagement, which influences teaching performance.  Age, as well as years of teaching experience, matters a lot in work engagement.  The longer one stays in the teaching profession, the more he or she becomes adept at work.  Also, the educational qualification or preparation of a teacher is another factor influencing work engagement as seen clearly in the difference in the scores between Physics majors and non-Physics majors.

I bought it in Sn R and costs 899. It has the following flavors: Raspberry, Blueberry, Acai berry, Cranberry, and Aronia.  

I bought it because I researched that probiotics are good for your health especially of one has undergone a surgery. 

When Lilly and Stilwell first coined the term "probiotic," it meant "for life" in Greek. The phrase was coined as an alternative to the term "anti-biotic," which refers to a chemical made by one microorganism to destroy another. A collection of bacteria known as "probiotics" is added to meals to increase their nutritional value and maintain gut health.

Probiotics are recognized by the World Health Organization as the secondary immune system since they are effective at battling microbial illnesses and are affordable, safe, and harmless.

Probiotics' competitive interaction with pathogens that are present in the intestinal medium and that they inhibit is the basis for the notion of employing them to maintain health.

So is it effective?

I've been taking it for a week now and I have not experienced any differences in my overall health. I am stress-free, and I sometimes sleep late. I sometimes eat unhealthily but I seldom get sick.

I cannot tell if this product is effective. I bought this because I had surgery and has a surgical wound and I cannot tell if it helps in wound healing.

What is the Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA) condition of Kris Aquino?

Kris Aquino has a rare auto-immune disease called Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis (EGPA). Kris traveled to the United States in June. She stated in 2018 that she had been diagnosed with an autoimmune condition, and since then, she has been through different medical exams and therapies. 

What is this disease all about?

A rare form of anti-neutrophil cytoplasm antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis known as eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA) (previously Churg-Strauss syndrome) is characterized by eosinophil-rich granulomatous inflammation and small to medium-size vessel vasculitis linked to bronchial asthma and eosinophilia. Research on EGPA has lagged behind other types of ANCA-associated vasculitis for a number of years due to its rarity and distinctive characteristics, such as eosinophilic inflammation.

Although EGPA patients often respond well to glucocorticoids, they frequently relapse. Currently, there isn't a proven treatment for EGPA, according to the results of numerous clinical trials. Mepolizumab was recently licensed for the treatment of EGPA after a randomized controlled trial demonstrated its therapeutic efficacy. Additionally, a number of fresh medications are being tested. Future research will be required to determine the best way to use these medications and to address unmet requirements, like relapse prevention.

Explain:

There is no proven treatment for EGPA, there is one licensed treatment Mepolizumab and it can be therapeutic after a controlled trial.  Steroids can be used but there is a relapse. 

The condition can harm key organs and can cause morbidity and mortality, This condition is bad for Kris, it can lead to mortality.

I hope Kris can survive her health problems.

What is ANCA?

Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) are antibodies that attack cytoplasmic components of neutrophils and monocytes (Lai, Leung, Rifkin and Lockwood, 1994). These antibodies are of major importance in detecting and classifying systemic vasculitides (Sinclair and Stevens, 2007),  like  eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (eGPA, previously named Churg-Strauss Syndrome (CSS) (Sable-Fourtassou, Cohen, Mahr, Pagnoux, Mouthon, Jayne and French (2005). This is the condition of Kris Aquino. 

Different systemic forms of these vasculitides may harm key organs and cause significant morbidity and mortality as a result.
