Pinoy Big Brother- Gabby dela Merced

Ok, I chanced to watch it again last night and it pissed me off again. They do not want to vote one of them out. Plastic, Show me someone who doesn't want to win 2 million pesos. Maybe by voting someone out they will get less vote, I doubt that Ruben will be the winner, was he ever nominated by the housemate? We never know how many will vote for him, as for John and Will, when they were nominated with Don Geisler, they have more votes, so we will never know the popularity of Ruben. If he has a lot of supporters. And why would the housemates choose among themselves who will be the winner, are they going to spend money voting for each other? As for me, I go for Gabby dela Merced.

New Boyfriend for New Year

I have a lot of single friends and the coming new years marks another year for them without a partner. I just wrote a very long letter to a friend, coaxing her to find one. I told another friend to start loosing weight and another to start wearing make-up. These friends are in their 30's already. The more they are getting worried.

I have a very pretty picture in my friendster account, and that is not my picture. There are a lot of men adding me as friends because they thought that I was the one in the picture. I forwarded these profile to my friend and she don't like them because they only added me as a friend because they thought I was pretty.

I was telling Irwin that men naturally want a pretty girl, INITIALLY. Because they are really attracted to the face, the body, all physical. Science has proven this in several studies and this was even theorized by Charles Darwin. So you cannot tamper with nature. This is the nature of man.

I know and I believe that I was attractive when I was YOUNGER, when my waistline is still 24 inches and I can wear pretty clothes and I know I attracted some guys not just Irwin. Plus my added self-confidence. hehe.

Women in contrast are attracted to power and the ability to provide for the offspring, this too is according to Darwin's theory. So there are pretty girls with not-so-pretty boys but rich pockets. And this could be one of the reason why there are less women marrying. They cannot find a man who can provide for them, because some of these women are already successful and you still have to surpass their accomplishment for you to be attracted to them, but if you are already OLD, you cannot be choosy!

I told my friend to get pregnant with a man but she doesn't like a baby she wants a man!

So for singles men out there if you can read this blog, I am looking for a lot of boyfriends for a lot of girl friends. This is a wanted ad for a boyfriend. period.

Do You Want to Die?

I want to die a natural death, getting old. My husband's grandmother is 87 years old with no pain in her body and yesterday, she let me smell her Creamsilk fragrant hair that has reached her knee. She was a widow at 30 and was a pregnant widow. She has lived 57 years with her only daughter who has never married and takes care of her, our Ninang Baby. So devoted and caring.

Now, on the topic of dying. How do I start writing this? I suddenly wrote about dying because I checked a website on dying and saw to my horror that a lot of people are accessing it. Why do people want to die, why would they search in the internet on ways to die? Gracious! If only their relatives or their loved ones could see what they have been accessing. They have a suicide attempt or a death wish. Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! So many lonely people. So isolated. This season of Christmas and New Year it does not only bring cheers to a lot of people but loneliness too.

Some dread the arrival of their birthdays, or special occasions because of fear that no one will greet them or no one will share it with them. Some people would judge them pathetic but let's us understand these people. Behind their facade that everything is alright they are miserable.

Just like the Beatles Song, All the lonely people, where do they all come from?
I can be alone but I am not lonely, you can be with a lot of people but you are lonely. I just hope that everyone will have a Lonely-Free New Year and everyone will have someone to share the holidays. People of the world, have faith, have love, make no room for loneliness.

Wrong Medicine-Viagra

I remember a funny incident when I was buying an expectorant from a drug store, and cannot remember the name of the drug and I thought of "Sildenafil", they keep on telling me Sumaped, or Sumapen. They asked me to buy an antibiotic and a cough drop, so I thought the Sumaped is the cough drop and I will buy a generic antibiotic, it turned out that the right name is Sumapen and it is the antibiotic.
I did not buy any cough drop, I was tempted to buy "Sildenafil" and ask the pharmacist but didn't. When I got home, I told them that I did not buy any expectorant and that the right name was not Sumaped but Sildenafil, I was so proud about my knowledge on medicine that I searched on the internet for the Sildenafil. Hahaha!

Sildenafil turned out to be the generic name for Viagra. Woohoo! Buti na lang pala, hindi ko tinanong sa pharmacist, ang yabang ko pa kay Irwin, kala ko tama ako, nakakahiya naman for me to buy a Viagra. Hehehe.

Our ninong is a doctor from the States and he always has a Viagra and give it to his friends to sell, aba mahal din ata yun noh. Effective ba talaga yun??

Christmas Party Thoughts

I can't sleep after waking up so early so I will unburden my thoughts here na lang. Yesterday was our Christmas party at Boni and it was tiring day. I was there around 1pm and the party started around 3pm and ended at before 8pm, umuwi na ako di pa tapos. Because we are from Pasig, we do not know the program due to lack of information kasi ang layo namin, eh isa lang po ang telepono sa Pasig, walang internet, our Director doesn't care about the party and the competition so nada. Wala rin kaming copy ng criteria for the song and ballroom competition. Wala talaga, basta nag practice lang kami.

We lost in the competition.
Consolation prize lang ang napanalunan namin, last year we were at least 2nd place sa dance, bago lang ang song competition and we were 4th place. Hindi pa umabot sa 3rd place. 7th place kami sa ballroom competition.

Prizes for song and dance costs 20,000 for the first prize, 15,000 for the second and 10,000 for the third prize. Consolation is 2,000.

Malakas kasi ang group namin, and some group from Boni tried to sabotage our performance, we were not permitted to include in our dance yung instructor ng PE, tapos sa Boni, lahat ng PE teachers, isang group sila, sila pa ang nanalo ng first price sa dance. Madaya.

For the singing competition, the winner was the last to perform, syempre may effect yun after seeing the performance of everybody alam na nila ang gagawin nila, lalakasan ang boses, aayusin, ang everything was alright na including the sound system, it was unfair for those who performed first, kasi major adjustment pa ang sound at the start, malakas ang mike, mas malakas ang piano kesa sa voice etc. sa mga succeeding okey na. kaya mas maganda ang performance ng mga sumunod.

Pag naging mommy siguro ako, that would be my self-actualized self.
Nagiging philosopher-psychologist na naman ako.

Christmas and Wines

Something about the mini bar from a disposal in Dusit Hotel prompted me to write something about wines. My sister-in-law works in a hotel and is an expert on food and beverages, she knows the ingredients of most prepared foods, she knows a lot of cheese names and especially wines.

As for me I am confined to the red and white wines, and the "black fly in your chardonnay" song of Alanis Morrissette that is all I know.

During Christmas and New Year or any celebration, you can always find wines, especially in weddings and on Valentine's Day so I guess not only at Christmas.

People give wines as a gift though, because it is affordable and within the range of a giver's budget.

My father-in-law has a collection of wines, the cabinet wine is already overflowing so they displayed all the wine at the top of another cabinet. To best keep the wine it should be placed in a wine cellar where they are stored to keep their taste and spirit intact. So I am not sure if these wines taste as good as it gets old.

I took some pictures of the wines displayed inside the house. I tried to search something about wine from the internet and here's what I found out.

There are four categories of wine.

We have the following:

1. Appetizers - Sherries, white Vermouths, flavoured wines - lead into a meal
just as hors d'oeuvres and soups do.

2. Table wines - the white Chablis and Rieslings, the pink Roses and blanc de
noirs, the red Burgundies and Cabernet Sauvignons- go with the main dishes.

3. Dessert wines - Ports, Angelicas, Cream Sherries, Muscats-accompany the
sweet.

4. Sparkling wines or "bubblies"

It is still a puzzle to me.
So here are some more categories for the wine and it depends on the name and the variety.

For the names, It is traditional in France to use the name of the Region in which the grapes are grown. Examples include Alsace, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Chianti, Champagne, Loire, Pies porter, Rhone etc.

For variety, Wines labelled by the kind of grape are termed " varietals" ... Outside Europe, it is usual to use the name of the grape variety that the wine is made from (i.e. Cabernet, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, etc.)

Many of the world's finest wines are a blend of varietals: almost all Bordeaux red wines contain Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Almost all Champagnes contain Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

What is the most expensive wine in the world?

The most expensive wine ever sold is a bottle of 1787 Chateau Lafite which sold at Christie’s London in December, 1985 for £105,00 (about US $160,000). The wine is reported to be from the cellar of Thomas Jefferson, the former US President, and this most expensive bottle of wine had the initials Th.J etched into the glass bottle.

Chateau Lafite is a famous winery situated in the village of Pauillac, France. The winery has been occupied since at least the 14th century, and the majority of the vines were planted around 1680. Jefferson first sampled the wine while in France but continued to be a customer of these expensive Bordeaux wines throughout his life.

What I Love Being Pregnant

Let me count the ways; I've seen this article in American Baby magazine and thought of having my own list

1. Yesterday, I got to ride the turn back MRT ride at North Edsa station, because of my condition, it was my first time to ride from North Edsa and got the wrong level of station, I still have to go down to the second level because I was on the third, but the kind ticket man, permitted me to enter and I was the first one to have a seat.

2. Some tricycle drivers are extra careful when they are driving especially sa mga lubak.

3. I get to eat what I want

4. People would offer to carry my things

5. People keep on feeding me food that they only share sa "buntis"

6. My brother always drive me around no questions asked.

7. Free from household chores

8. I can request special food from my mother especially my favorite hamonado

9. I do not care about how I look, if I look fat or ugly or plain

10. I get to sleep a lot

hmm, dadagdagan ko na lang sa susunod.

To Tell or Not To Tell a Cheating Boyfriend

That is the question. Whether I should tell my friend I caught his boyfriend cheating on her or not to tell. My friend is suppose to marry the bf next year, and one day, I saw the man with another girl who looks like my friend but on the smaller side, medyo chubby kasi ang friend ko eh, pero this girl is kamukha talaga, payat pa. Parang smaller version, kamuntik ko na silang lapitan kasi akala ko nga siya yung friend ko.
I am with my husband, he recognize the bf too, pero siempre siguro gusto pa niyang ipagtanggol, baka naman hindi raw siya. Nyee. So we decided not to tell, baka naman hindi nga siya, is there harm in not telling? Sabi nga nila, what you do not know won't hurt you. Haay, sana lang it won't happen to me, I do not want to know.

PBB Ulet on Baron Getting Drunk

Of course, this is an exciting show for me seeing Baron loose himself completely to alcohol, it was pure torture, it was like out of a movie and the acting was real syempre totoo nga eh. I like to see the housemates reaction to Baron, natakot si Ruben, si Will naman pag kaharap si Baron, pinapasober pero parang di rin niya kaya, takot din siya, pagdating sa loob siya naman ang bida sa pagkukuwento. si John, ok pa si John pag uminom ako pwede ko siyang isama, hehehe.

Gabby was game, I can feel she can understand Baron lalo na the next morning when she said na "they should help Baron". Of course, Mariel was plastic na naman, the night when Baron was drunk, she was making sign na "sira ulo" finger rotation sa tenga, "sira ulo", may "tiwang".

Tapos the next morning, who knows probably after hearing what Gabby has said, biglang, "Hello Baron, nice to see back", sarap ihampas sa pader, kung alam lang ni Baron. And Mommy Yayo was " Baron! tapos biglang hug, tapos, sasabihin pa, "It was fun, ok lang yun".

No. It was not Ok, bakit ayaw nilang sabihin na hindi ok, plastic? Sana lang pinakita rin ni Big Brother kung ano ang reaction ng mga housemate kay Baron, hindi lang kung ano ang ginawa niya kagabi when he was drunk.
Good na rin na pinakita rin ito, and they were apologizing pa, you will learn nga eh, sabi ni Big Brother, sabi ko sa sarili ko, parang hindi nakakakita ng lasing ang mga tao kung hindi ipapalabas, Ay sus, mas grabe pa nga dyan ang mga nangyayari sa labas.

I do not know, this is one of my flaw, I guess, being tolerable to people's weaknesses, nakakainis talagang mag-aral ng Psychology, kelangan mong intindihin ang mga tao, pero sila hindi ka naman magets. Tsk, tsk, tsk!

I do not have the best attitude, then, tararaaaan. " Ako lang ang taong nakakaintindi sa kanya, kung ano ang gusto mo, ako lang ang nakakasakay sa kanya, who can tolerate him and understand and completely accept him as he is". (aside from his family maybe, hindi rin)

Wow, that is one unconditional positive regard, sa psychology yun pero pag sa ordinary conversation, that is what you call LOVE. You do not ask a person to love you or accept you as you are, kasi ang hirap gawin nun kaya diba, kaya swerte ka na if you were able to find one person who can do that besides your mother. Hehehehe. Senti, tama na. may gagawin pa ako.

Pinoy Big Brother Again

Mariel did it again, she was obvious that she doesn't want Gladys inside the house and I think Glady's also wants out because Mariel is the Big Sister. From the start, they have this silent competition, parang maganda galit sa kapwa maganda, pero I do not know what they are worried about. Maybe Mariel thinks that she will have competition with the attention from the housemates and maybe Gladys was right when she thinks that Mariel likes Ethel more. Anyways, ayaw ko na syang panoorin, parang bata si Gladys kung umiyak, may tantrum and Mariel is still irritating me.

Low Bat Day

What a tiring day, after my checkup at Asian Hospital for my Immunologist I have to rush to my OB's checkup so I could show her the result of my blood tests and some instructions from my Immunologist. Haay! Pero I was able to hear for the first time, my baby's heart beat! But I was so tired, I have little reaction, all I know is that I can hear the little someone and the beating heart.
I really know that this baby is a fighter, hehehe, the baby is already showing strength through the heartbeat.

I have to take duphaston again until week 16, I will take a steroid for my immune system, and the aspilet for my blood clotting. Haay! Baby ko talaga, special na agad.
So sabi ng Ob be ready for more expenses, no worry my baby, Daddy will worry about that. hehehe. Just keep intact in my womb.

December Sale Season and Impulsive Buying

Yesterday, we passed through Pioneer St. in Mandaluyong and we saw a One-day Coleman Sale and it was jampacked with people. Since it is a one-day sale, everyone wants to get a hand on everything, you can see people carrying big square-bucket Colemans, we saw cars piling up their compartment with 4 pcs of big Coleman containers. I wonder what will they do with that. I think it is a great gift option but it lacks personalization. Hahahaha!

We wanted to buy a pet bed for Cassie but we already bought one at Cartimar, the one at Cartimar costs 500 and it is just her size, the Coleman pet bed costs 1,200, 710 and 800, we should have waited for the sale since Coleman is washable and just like what I said durable.

Discount is around 300-500 pesos, not bad but I see people panic buying and showing collective behavior because I think they are getting or buying things that they will regret after, just like in any warehouse sale, you tend to get things that you do not need and then plan to give it to whoever the shoe or shirt fits. Just like yesterday, a saw a Dad bought a Tempur pillow costing 3,310 with a discount of 300, maybe he really needs it or maybe he saw someone get it and he gets one too, but if you are in the department store and see the display, you will rarely buy it, and if you really need it, you will buy two, one for you and for your partner. Maybe he will give it to someone, very expensive gift.
I see people buying because they are looking at what other people has taken or bought. What do you call this behavior? Eto na naman ako, trying to figure out behaviors and attitudes. Is this what you call keeping up with the Joneses? Just because your neighbor has a new car, you wanted one too? Eh what will you do with a very big Coleman container, stack it is your basement and use it only once a month during special occasions, well, considering the price, maybe it is a steal after all.

What about impulsive buying? I am always a victim of this impulsive buying, my wardrobe is a good evidence for that, buying clothes and things that I do not need and buy it for the sake of what? At-The-Moment spurt of adrenalin that temporarily gives you a high feeling for buying beautiful things? Then after wearing it once or twice it will be placed in the farthest part of the cabinet and let it rot, but because it may be expensive you do not want to get rid of it.

Haay, I should listen to my mother's advice in choosing clothes, choose clothes or things that has a classic design that never goes out of style. I have a boxful of clothes stacked and not using anything if I have to take it out it will fill my cabinet again. So maybe I should just sell it? Garage Sale??

Speaking of Sale I saw this Sale ads in Pioneer, National Bookstore Warehouse Sale 7-8 and 14-15 only. We might go there next week after my masteral class at Boni.

Another Sale Alert is at Microwarehouse in Silver City at Ugong, Pasig on December 15. This is a one-day sale only. Microwarehouse sells ipods, mac product and other tech gadgets at a very low price. We also plan to go there next week to buy bag for our Macbook or a PSP for Irwin, I want a Mac Mini too!

I'm Happy and No One Knows It

I just had my ultrasound tonight and seeing my baby again takes all the tiredness and anxiety that has gripped me all week before the ultrasound. I'm in my 8th weeks and 5 days and my baby's heart is beating 177 beats per minute, growing strong and still hanging on. NO subchrionic bleeding either. I am so glad I cried on the way home, I look like a fool walking and crying so I just bought myself a cup of mocha ice cream and brought one for Cassie too. Irwin is having his Christmas party so he cannot go with me. I cannot explain my tear-stained face when I got home so I feigned a happy and talkative persona.

Now,I am blogging about it and sharing my happiness with anyone who care to read.

Maybe I am having those pregnancy partum but I am not depressed. I told myself to never read magazines on pregnancy again now it affected me again. So I will just rely on God and good reason for my condition and not based it on anything else.

On Aswang, Tiktik and Pregnancy

Do you believe in these creatures? Well I'd like to, because of what happened to me when I had a miscarriage. That was before when I learned the result of my APAS test. Weeks before I had my miscarriage, my husband told me that he heard loud wings flapping outside of our house and it was collaborated by my sis-in-law who was also pregnant at that time. Of course, I was scared, I couldn't sleep for a while, and I keep on watching the windows for some telltale sign of the "aswang".
My sis-in-law has a third eye and she could feel and see spirits. I believed her in some ways. So when I had the miscarriage and we couldn't explain it in any ways, we blamed the aswang. When I got home from the hospital, two days later, it was my sis-in-laws turn to bleed and was rushed to the hospital. Again, blame it on the aswang. So what did we do, we tried to contact spiritista and bought buntot page (stingray's tail) in Quiapo. I have two buntot page in my room located at the windows, my sis-in-law has a very large and long buntot page by her window. It is 5 feet long, and my father-in-law would swing it in the gates, windows and doors at 6pm everyday. That was when we were still blaming the aswang.
We have holy water and believe me, yes believe me, we have crushed garlic in our windows too! Until today because I am still in my two months period, supposedly I smell good to them.
Sometimes when I come home at night and I was the first to arrive in a dark house, I would hear the dogs doing their "ahooo" awoooo", and I will not get out of the house until someone arrives.
But now, when I know my APAS blood test result my miscarriage was caused by my blood clotting and cutting the air, nutrients and blood supply to my baby. If this continues, the baby will not survive three months that's why I have to take aspirin to help in some ways. Tomorrow, I am due for some more test and hopefully aspirin is all I need to keep my baby alive. Whew! so goodbye aswang, it never hurts to believe in you anyways.

Etcetera, Etcetera on PBB

Early morning blogging, what can I write? About how I dislike Mariel and glad that she is out of Pinoy Big Brother house? I am glad though that Baron is not evicted because I could see a potential in him to change. Gabby's entrance is not welcome also because it defies the rules, she should have no outside contact and if she leaves she should not return. She may have taken out of her system the experiences and the feeling of being a prisoner in Big Bro's house.
Mariel can be herself because she has no fear of getting evicted, she was the only happy person inside the house, maybe if the others could relax just like Mariel we could really see their true personality and if they do not care about winning the price, then we could really tell who they really are. But because I am teaching Social Psychology, and it is the study of the influence of the presence or perceived presence of people on an individual, you really could not tell their personality because it is a different situation, once they get out what you see inside is not necessarily their personality.

I remember Mariel, telling John that they should "date" after the show is over and see if what they are feeling are brought about the situation and see if what they feel is real. Usually, it does not last, it is brought about by loneliness and the feeling of limited freedom inside the house.

Change topic to marriage and relationship, so how about those extra-marital affairs by the husbands or wives? Are they influenced by the situation too? The answer is yes, one-night-stand, yes. The problem comes the morning after when you feel the responsibility sinking in. Maybe the married one's are waiting for some changes to happen in their relationship with their partner and if it improves maybe they will leave their mistress. For the one-night stand, sorry, it is not a start of a serious relationship, forget the girl, forget the man, pray you won't get pregnant, it is only brought about the situation. Cynical right?

Travelogue: Palawan Underground River

Giant Mushroom!

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to join them for this trip nevertheless, I am uploading pictures of their trip to underground river, it looks exciting, navigating the river into the cave and see the rock formation. Going there takes around 90 minutes passing through a rough road, and then arriving at a beach and loading a boat into the river, they look like real tourists right? *sigh* Look at their happy faces! They are all having a good time!

Travelogue: Puerto Princesa, Palawan

I was on vacation last Friday till yesterday, our entire family went to Palawan to celebrate my parent's wedding anniversary. I was anxious before the trip because I got my ultrasound result and it indicated that I had a minimal subchrionic hemorrage and that travelling is not allowed. Pero matigas ang ulo ko and I thought to myself that we planned this a long, long time ago at hindi pa ako sasama. In the end, I did go with them. I never regret that decision, I was able to get a full rest in the hotel and now I am back to work and I did not have any spotting or bleeding.

Our flight was at 8:00 and we arrived at Puerto Princesa an hour later, first stop is a lunch prepared by my father's friend in Narra, Palawan it was a two and a half hour drive from Puerto Princesa. We were already hungry so at 11:00 am we ordered food at Jollibee and arrived at Narra around 1:30 pm good thing we had eaten something.

First Stop: Estrella Falls, Narra, Palawan

We went to Estrella Falls, it was a ten kilometer rough road drive to the falls.
It rained before we went there so the steps were a little slippery and the road was wet but we were able to see the falls and took some pictures, here are some shots of the falls shown above.
It was a relaxing place, sana if we arrived earlier and if it did not rained, baka naligo pa kami sa falls, ang lamig siguro ng tubig. Brrr. Sight seeing na lang ang pwedeng gawin..

Mad Labs, Yawning, Eggs and Redheads

Mad Labs

I was watching Mad Labs in the National Geographics Channel and there are some interesting new findings that I want to share

Humpty Dumpty Egg
First test they did is to find out how strong an egg is; they discovered that you could crush the egg crosswise with your hand but not lengthwise. They tried to test it scientifically by putting a wood on top of a crosswise egg and a lengthwise egg; it took 3 kilos of weight to crush the crosswise egg and ten kilos of weight to break it up. Why? Because if an egg is in lengthwise position, it is like dome and the pressure is on the bottom part and provides a foundation, dome structure like the Araneta Coliseum is likewise strong. So come to think of it, our fingers can exert pressure as heavy as a 3-kilo weight. Interesting.

Some like it Red
Next one is the pain threshold for redheads, it seems that redheads feel less pain than those who are not particularly the blondes. They tried to test it in a laboratory by trying to measure the pain threshold of subjects with a red hair, blonde and brown, they place a device that increasingly heats up and puts them in the subjects skin, if the heat is intolerable they will signal the experimenter so the experimenter could stop the heat. Redheads feel less pain and have a higher threshold than non-redheads. Why, because ordinarily if we feel pain our brain would produce substance in our brain called endorphins to counteract the pain but there is also another substance that regulates the release of endorphins, for the redheads this substance that regulates is diminished or releases a minimal substance so they would feel less pain.
Seriously, they will not feel the pain until their skin is burned or not feel alarmed if they get hit in the head unless blood is oozing out. As I observed this can also be true for the fair and dark skinned people. If you have fair skin you are more likely to feel the heat of the sun but for dark skinned people, they can tolerate it, I do not know this is just my own theory not by National Geographics.

Yawning is contagious
Third test is on yawning; this is one phenomenon that has no explanation yet until this one, they tried to test scientifically of course the reason for yawning. According to studies, looking at a picture of a person yawning, a video or just reading a word like yawn is enough to make a person yawn. For children below 6 years old, they do not have this capability to yawn. Children presented with video of a yawning adult do not cause yawning in children. In an experiment, they tried to show subjects a video of a person yawning and from a one-way-mirror they tried to count how many times the subjects yawn. People have different rates for yawning, after watching the video those who yawns more are believed to have more empathy, the capability to feel what the other person is feeling so yawning is like a social behavior that signals “ I know what you feel”. Incidentally, after writing this down and watching TV of people yawning, I did not yawn at all, I want to disagree that I have no empathy, but I am not sleepy, I just woke up and feeling active. I think people yawn because they may found something not interesting or boring or it depends on the situation, for a relaxed atmosphere or where there is a routine task, I think you are most likely to yawn, but for highly charged emotions like watching horror films, I think you do not have time to yawn even if presented with a yawning video. Maybe I am right I can also be wrong.

December Seems So Far Away

For someone like me living one day at a time, December seems so very very far, I have no plans beyond tomorrow, I have to be careful of my each step and watchful of my emotions, because a slight change in my emotion or a little drop of my immune system can trigger and may cause the loss of my new baby. I am careful yet welcome of anything that could happen to me, for once in my life I am letting God decide for my fate, It is not a deal or no deal, He Knows what is best for me and whatever it is God only knows, so I will live my life one day at a time.

Easy Money

I have a lot of good news today, first my bloggerwave post was approved and secondly my payperpost post is also approved, so that is around 30 dollars for two posts. Easy money right, so what are you waiting for, there's real money in blogging. Maybe you're next problem would be how to withdraw them right? Maybe I'll think of what I'll do with it later.

My 5 week old baby

Okey here is a sneak peak of my ultrasound, 5 weeks na si baby, my second pregnancy in a year, so this is my newest baby. Baka kasi nagtampo yung nauna, I didn't post the sonogram, kaya heto, I am pregnant so I have to be ultra careful and watch my steps, eat right, sleep well, be worry free and healthy because you can only have a healthy baby with a healthy mom right?

I have subchrionic hemorrage, no cause for worry naman daw, usual daw iyon sa mga pregnant women, but I had a miscarriage last August lang, so talagang careful na ako ngayon. I would say that this pregnancy is going to be not easy, since I always feel tired and sleepy, hungry and super lazy. Haay, sana I can stop working, pero mababato lang ako sa bahay, super active ako, maybe one reason why I lost my first baby, pero now I make it a point to stop and rest.

I wonder nga eh, I used to worry a lot, now parang I can't access that part of my brain for worrying, parang I have no care at all unlike before na super praning talaga ako. Now, I never get affected by hearsay or anything, deadma, basta ako I am going to have this baby, queber ko sa kanila.

Maybe this child is a fighter, so we will fight together, Aja! Aja! Kapit lang anak, it is going to be a loooong journey!

Pupung and Friends Pinoy Fast Food Resto

Yesterday we went to Mall of Asia to watch Beowulf on IMAX cinema, we do not usually go there because we are living in Pasig and MOA is in Pasay, it is very far from our place. We were looking for a new resto to try and so we've seen Pupung and Friends accidentally, since I am not so familiar with MOA all I can remember is that this resto is beside an escalator and another new restaurant KKK.

The Food
We ordered Rib Eye Pork Steak which costs 125.00 including java rice and a glass of ice tea. We also ordered halo-halo.

They also offer, tapa, liempo, longanisa, bangus belly, bbq tuna in sticks, breaded porkchop.

For drinks, they have guinumis (cold drink with coconut milk), halo-halo and buko pandan. They also have green mango ensalada, tinuktuk??? and laing.

The Cost
An order of a meal would cost around 70-88 pesos, their highest price of food is the pork steak. Drinks costs aroubd 16-25 pesos for soda and ice tea.
Other sidings you could order for 10.00 or 15.00 or 25.00 like laing or pinakbet.
Extra rice cost 12.00 and java rice costs 16.00.

The Ambience

It looks a little crowded and they cannot accommodate all the people coming in so the tendency is to look for another restaurant nearby. Their design is a big tarpaulin on the wall of Pupung and Friends comics, plus they wrap another comics tarpaulin in one of the big posts. They even use it to decorate their lampshape with Pupung and Friends cartoons.

Service
It takes a while for your order to arrive, around 15-20 minutes, but if you ordered breaded porkchop it is readily available, if it needs to be barbequed you have to wait. Though we did not order porkchop, you can see it in their counter that it is already prepared. Maybe it is just their soft opening so they are a little slow.

The concept

Their menu is not new but their concept it, they named their food after the character in the comics, the decoration I think is original. They do not need a lot of advertisement because there is a lot of walk-in clients. They may be familiar with Pupung and Friends and the food is cheap.

Rating
I would give them a rating of 6 out 10, because I like what we ordered, but it is not a candidate for my favorite reataurant. You might just try it but nothing will make you come back, maybe the price or maybe if there is a long line in other resto.
The food is similar with Binalot and other street resto offering tapsi and breakfast meal. Maybe in one year they need to add, french fries, spaghetti, carbonara, and other food and maybe name it Pupung and Friends in Italy or France or America so you can order a burger. Hehehehe.

Pinoy Big Brother-Mariel

Among the housemates, kay Mariel ako nagagandahan, she has this natural flawless beauty . She seems childish though and sometimes she seems innocent that some people would find very "maarte". And I've been reading my social psychology book and according to it really looks are really deceiving, it is hard to judge someone, lalo na you have preconceived ideas. Meaning you've heard something about this person and it affects your perception of that person. We also could have different opinions for a single thing, some of you may agree with what I said about Mariel and some would disagree and some are just neutral.

The Long Wait is Over for PayPerPost

Yesterday, I was so so tired and wanted to rest, truly after feeling down for a while you will have good news. The good news is... *drum roll please* PayPerPost approved my blog! Yeheeey! I can write anything about any topic I want and get paid for it too. I just hope that I can find some time to write, I have some free time because my class is only on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thurdays and Saturdays.

Isn't that amazing! It's like the whole universe is conspiring to give me time to post some paid blog ads.

I've been reading a lot about payperpost and I was almost close to giving up when it came unexpectedly. There are some mommy bloggers out there that I know like Peachy and Aggie that are already earning and some are stay at home moms and they get excited everytime they get an approved opportunity.

I've been reading their blog and really find it hard to believe that by signing with PayPerPost and write about blog ads they can save and buy good stuffs for them.

Really, it pays so I thought that maybe I should try it too. You just need a paypal account so PayPerPost can pay the bloggers or posties for payperpost members. I never hesitated to try and be a member since I've been reading about it and they actually get paid.

I also read some blogs waiting for their approval from PayPerPost, well, do not lose hope, keep on trying and write on your blog, who knows one of these days, you'll check your mail and find that your blog is also approved. What are you waiting for? Sign up for PayPerPost now!

Tiring, Tiring So Tiring Day

Bad Day today, so tired of walking, I enrolled in my masteral course and took two subjects, I have to go several stairs up and go down again and then route my clearance sa library, accounting, clinic and finally sa Graduate School.

Review: The Excelsior Spa - Galleria-ear candling

*******FOR THOSE WHO ARE STILL NOT CONVINCED THAT THIS PROCEDURE IS HARMFUL, LET ME REMIND YOU THAT MY EARS WERE BURNED AS CERTIFIED BY THE DOCTOR.I'VE SEEN IT FROM THE EENT'S MONITOR MY EAR LOOKS LIKE A PART OF A BARBECUE..****

Service

We tried the Egyptian Ear Candling Technique that is suppose to relieve people from swimmers ear, fatigue, headache and cold. They claimed it is also helpful in removing hardened ear wax and would help you hear better.

Cost
The Ear candling costs around 700.00 for a 30 minute back massage and 15 minute each ear for the ear candling.

Procedure

After the massage, they will insert a cone candle into your ear, it is around 9-12 inches long, they would then insert a board down the candle near the ear to prevent the candle residue from pouring over your ear. Imagine in a procession, to prevent burning your hand you will put a cardboard right?

This is supposedly what is inside your ear, we did saw these things and "believed" that it is the earwax from our ear.

Advantage
The massage is relaxing, the spa is cozy, it makes you sleepy, the facilities are clean and it has a sauna and bath.

Disadvantage
Caution, the whole procedure literally burned our ear! We have to see a doctor the next day because of a very hurtful ear. I even have to take an antibiotic because I got an infected ear from the burn. I even have to buy two kinds of eardrops, one for the taking out the remnants of the candle to make it loose and one for the infection.

Imagine, I was taking CELEBREX which costs 70 each to take away the pain.

The Medical City

We went to The Medical City this morning and the service elevator was not working, if you parked at the basement, you have to wait in line to ride the elevator, ang haba ng pila. We were on B2 so pagdating pa lang sa floor namin wala nang space kaya pinasasakay na kami going down even if we are going up. So ang nangyayari, sa B3 puno na rin, no way na makakasakay pa ang nasa B2. I have to go to HMI to have my thyroid checked baka kasi isa siyang cause ng miscarriage ko eh. Kaya lang all the doctors are for appointment only, kaya tatawag pa ako sa Monday to schedule my checkup.

Pinoy Big Brother

Minsan ko lang mapanood ang Pinoy Big Brother pero aliw ako talaga kagabi when the boys entertained the girls for the Girl's Night Out. Kakatuwa yung dance number nila. Hahaha! :) Ang kulet! Akala ko naka underwear lang sila yun pala naka shorts sila. Bigla ko tuloy naalala si Megan, yung nahulog siya sa bola the other day, when they were playing the human bowling.
Here I posted their picture, do they look alike? Plus Amgirl pa itong cousin ni Irwin, they speak the same pa. Haay, sana pag nagka-anak ako ng girl kasing ganda ni Tawny at Riza Santos.

Our Friends from OZ

Ninang Irene, Mam Cecil, Ethel and Leo, Me and IRwin

This is a picture taken during Ethel and Leo's visit to the Philippines last September, kasagsagan ng ZET scandal sa Pilipinas. Their love story is almost like a prayer come true. Maybe if you are almost 30 something and still not married, mag worry ka din diba? Then suddenly biglang may pinadala sa iyo si Lord, wow! Hanep ang galing ni Lord. A love that you cannot imagine, a partner na mabait that takes all your blues away.
Mam Ethel was my boss during my IT days, dalawa lang kami sa department namin and I was a witness to their love until they got married. We were married the same year, 2005. Pero nauna sila becoz they have to go to Australia. After two years they were able to visit again. I got a very nice pasalubong from them, I got a thermal bag na color pink and silver, Irwin got a boomerang, authentic Australian boomerang crafted by aborigines or natives of Australia.

Ay ang mga Pilipino talaga, di pinatawad si Leo, ninakawan ba naman sa Clark! Grabe noh? Onli in the Philippines, hmm, maybe not kahit saang country naman ata merong pick pockets. Right? Pero sana ma-eliminate na ito.

My Bridesmaid's Wedding

She is my bridesmaid during my wedding and she is my sister-in-law,
Haay, I did booked Eddie Bruan for our makeup and look how wonderful her makeup is, so sobrang hinayang talaga ako kasi I did booked Eddie Bruan for my wedding di naman sila ang nagmakeup sa akin, yung taga ABS. Haay, tama na ang regrets.

This one naman is Diane, cousin nila. I was so cranky during the duration of the preps to the actual wedding kaya eto lang ang matinong picture, my gown was sira pa sira pa ang zipper, kaya I really wanted to rest after the wedding. yun pala I was pregnant na nung wedding, kaya siguro pagod ako lagi.
Anyways, the wedding was Ok kahit na si Diane lang ang coordinator, siyempre tumulong din kami and the rest of the relatives. There are some glitches, actually marami rin, pero kalimutan na lang ang lahat ng iyon.

iWhite Whitening Product

I am currently using the whole product range of iwhite from Korea, effective sya for removing blackheads and whiteheads, may one month na rin akong gumagamit, kaya lang dumadami ang pimples ko, sabi ni husband, baka raw dry ang skin ko, so we bought the moisturizer, ngayon I happen to check for the site ng iwhite, pero wala akong nakita, not sure talaga kung made in Korea nga siya. Baka naman iba ang name?

So eto, I will post the news from the online newspaper na nagtry na ng iwhite.

SKIN WHITENERS
BY DAHLI ASPILLERA

I am surrounded by dozens of relatives and friends, pre- and post-teens. Unlike of those generations past, this present generation seems to be getting more and more obsessed with skin whitening lotions. Is it because of the preponderance of deceitful marketing schemes of commercial products that promise but don’t deliver what they promise?

In the olden days, there were complimentary terms like, kayumangging-kaligatan, translates to the very desirable "olive" complexion. This was preferred to the white, Caucasian skin. This is a darker shade of the mediterranean skin. Most flattering when applied to the Filipina complexion.

UNTV had a dermatologist on. The female moderators of "What’s up Doc" wanted so much to learn how to maintain white, fair skin despite the tropical sun during sunny days. The major concern of these female broadcast journalists should have been more on skin cancer or ultraviolet rays on the retina. But having white skin was the expressed main concern.

These women reminded me of a young niece who asked if she should bleach her skin whiter like all of her friends are doing. My reply to my niece, and my message to the white skin-obsessed females at "What’s up, Doc":

If you’re born with beautiful features; your eyes sparkle from inner happiness and goodness, you can be shades more brown, and you would still be good-looking and desirable. We all have seen some really homely white-skinned Caucasian women, and their white skin did not help their appearance.

I lived in the Caribbean in South America. It was there where I saw some of the most beautiful women with perfect world-class facial features, and they were all had dark mahogany-skin. Some of them shaved their heads to show more of their profiles, faces, good skin. Bald and oh so beautiful!

I asked my niece if she thought I would look better "if my skin were two shades whiter. Do you think I’d be uglier if my skin were a few shades darker?" She answered no to both questions. I think I made her realized that lighter or darker skin really has nothing to do with looking good.

That ended the need to bleach, to dangerously whiten the Filipino skin which these TV female personalities seem to be endorsing–the whiter the better.

Recently, I counted more than a dozen whitening products in the drugstore shelves. I wanted to put one to test to make a case. I bought (P140.00) a tube of the product "iWhite Korea."

On the tube reads: Skin Whitening Vita Aqua Moisturing Cream with Mulberry and Panax Ginseng Root Extracts Plus Green Tea Leaf Extract. Light Cool Soothing Oil-free. Bio Nanotechnology. 1.76 oz (50 g.)"

On its skin-whitening capability, it claims, "The perfect combination of Mulberry Extract to shiten shin discoloration, Green Tea Extract and Vitamins ACE to protect skin against cellular damage and premature aging. Aloe Vera and Vitamin B5 for elasticity and firmness of the

skin plus emollients makes iWhite Aqua Moisturizing Cream the ideal choice for all skin types."

I applied the cream on the left side of my neck, shoulder and arm morning and night after showers. I’ve been doing this for about 50 days now. It is evident that there is no chance at all in color, shade, or texture between my left neck and shoulder and my right side neck and shoulder.

If iWhite has been ineffective after 50 days of twice-daily application, then there must be nothing to it. If iWhite is so ineffective, why is it doing a booming business enriching the Bio-cosys Corporation of San Juan? Doesn’t the BFAR or Dept. of Health worry about ineffective drugs allowed to stay in the market?

Shopping Day Today

Ang haba ng bakasyon, sana pala I went to Pangasinan to visit my dead relatives, kaya lang diba it was so hot last Nov 1, ang init sobra. Nagpunta na rin tuloy sila sa Baguio at Hundred Island. Haay, sayang, okey na rin.

So ngayon, after staying in the house for so many days, nag shopping na lang kami ni Irwin. I bought, a blouse, an anion pantiliners and a shades from Bayo. Cute nga ng shades ah. May nabili pala akong pouch bag din from Egg.
Etong Anion na pantiliners, sinadya pa namin sa Starmall because direct selling ito, hindi nabibili sa supermarket or department store. Popularly known as Love Moon, eto yung napkin na pwede mong gamitin ng isang buong araw. Meron siyang negative ion that would absord all the positive ions, positive ions parang mga free radicals in your body. Nakaka-alis ng dysmenorrhea, at pms if you have your period. I bought the pantiliners, 30 pieces costs 190.00 pesos.

This is the shades I bought naman from Bayo. Naku, I tried to wear a similar shades na pinahiram ng sis ko sa Tagaytay, when I smile umaangat, eto rin umaangat, pero I tried to practice smiling na hindi sya aangat. hehehe. It comes with a very durable and sleeky case.

This is what I bought from Egg, sale ito, dating 245.00 naging 100.00 na lang. So why not buy, cute lang, mura lang.

So before we tried to shop, kumain muna kami.

Tipid kami kasi we will have to pay for the stud service ni Cassie bukas, 2500 rin yun.
Haay ang Cassie, naghahanap na ulet ng lalaki, in heat kung baga.
Ganun pala, fertile sila looking for a mate,
para ring tao.

False Pregnancy

Pseudocyesis also known as False Pregnancy, can cause many of the signs and symptoms associated with pregnancy, and can resemble the condition in every way except for fetal presence. Other names include - spurious pregnancy, feigned pregnancy, imaginary pregnancy, hysterical pregnancy, phantom pregnancy and grossesse nerveuse ("mental pregnancy"). John Mason Good coined the term pseudocyesis from the Greek words pseudes (false) and kyesis (pregnancy) in 1923. False pregnancy is common in many mammals and is a method of providing milk for the group's offspring, most often cats, dogs, and rabbits.
From Wikipedia.com

Well, kakatapos ko lang manuod ng Bad Couple, it is a Korean comedy drama, tapos yung lead actress single siya na gusto niyang magkaroon ng anak pero ayaw nya ng asawa. Nakakatuwa because she has to find the best sperm in the whole of Korea so when she finally found the man, she deviced some ways para magkakilala sila at mabuntis siya nito. Hahahaha! Pina-inom niya ng tonic drink, siguro para yung Rhino na binebenta sa Watson at drug store. So iyon, may mangyari sa kanya, tapos after a month nag pregnancy test siya, nagkaroon siya ng hallucination na buntis siya, when she looked at the preg test. Hehehehe. She had similar symptoms of being pregnant except wala siyang baby, from being napapagod, nasusuka, weight gain etc. Pero after a month, nagka period siya, gulat siya tuloy.
Kakatuwa, as for me, gone are the days when I think na pregnant ako, pag nadelay ang period ko, magkaka-anak ako kung magkaka-anak ako. Basta, bahala na si Lord.

Taal Lake Weekend Special

Last Monday, we went to Tagaytay because our Aunt Carmen and Uncle Mario arrived from Canada so we have to tour them here in our country. We always like to go to Tagaytay but we never visited the Taal Lake or the Taal Volcano. Akala ko yung magandang almost cone shaped na mountain eh yun ang Taal Volcano, I was wrong. It was the other mountain. So if you plan to go to Taal Lake and see the Taal Volcano, prepare for a grueling sun, boat ride and horse ride but after all this hardship, wow, the view is extremely rewarding. Bale wala ang mga pagod at hirap ng pag-akyat, long story, we walked up the mountain, we never ride a horse going up and down, bagong raspa raw ako, bawal baka hindi na ako magka-anak. Hehehe.

How much money should you bring in case you want to visit the place?
*1,000 to 1,800 for the boat ride, be sure to haggle, tawad ng tawad, mas tataasan ang rate kung may kasamang foreigner.
*450-500 for the horse ride, 750 for the foreigner, double standard noh, mas mahal sa foreigner.
* 30 for the 250 ml na mineral water when you get to the top
* 20 pesos for the use of comfort room, mabigat dalhin sa itaas ang mga hollow blocks to build the wash room
*50 pesos if you feel like drinking fresh buko
Maybe you can bring your own food para mas enjoy, do not go there around noon, ang init, preferably in the afternoon para tolerable and araw
Naglakad kami ni Ate, sobra, nalakad namin paakyat ng bundok, it took us 45 minutes to go up, by horse nasa 30 minutes, konti lang ang diprensya, masaya ring maglakad, nakakapadog, rest in between your walk, you can get to the top.

Iba ang lasa ng tubig sa itaas ng bundok, sobrang refreshing kasi kagagaling mo lang sa pag-akyat.

SOMS Noodle House

Finally after several dining trips at Soms Noodle House, I was finally able to take some pictures of our favorite Phad Thai and Red Chicken curry. Seems that we never failed to go there once a month but now it seems that we were regular customers of the resto. I wasn't able to take some pictures of the front of the resto kasi dyahe ang daming tao. Heto lang ang pictures na nakunan ko, we were not sitting by the road nasa loob kami ng gate, inside the store.
Kasama pa namin si Cassie na kumain. Syempre.

Chocolates!

Lindt Chocolate Museum

'
Inside the museum, showing molders of chocolate

Ang laking Chocolate Fountain!

Free Taste, sarap siguro...yummy!

I am busy today because I returned back to work after recuperating for two months for my maternity leave. So I need to finish a lot of things for my masteral requirements and the clinical OJT of my students.

Because I cannot discuss anything, I thought of just sharing the pictures of Dusseldorf, Germany when Irwin was assigned there last year.

Hmm, I just wished I was with him when he went there, so eto ako, puro tingin na lang sa mga pictures.
