When it comes to celebrations or simple dessert cravings, I’ve always been on the lookout for the best cakes, wherever I go. Last September, I finally visited Bascon Cakes Cebu, a cake shop that I tried last February 2025 and I came back!
First Impressions
I went to their Mabolo branch, which looked warm and inviting from the outside. The display counter was filled with colorful cakes, pastries, and cupcakes — everything smelled like fresh butter and sugar. The staff were cheerful, they suggested their best seller cakes.
What I Tried — and Loved
I ordered a slice of their Baba Cake, which many people call the best chocolate cake in Cebu. And wow — it was perfection. The chocolate mousse was smooth and rich, not too sweet, and the ganache on top added just the right amount of bitterness. Every bite tasted like a celebration.
I bought it and brought it back to Manila, I tried to carry it and share it with my family. Here is how it looks, hahahaha.
